Accelerated Learning Plan
As you may be aware, the Education Minister has recently announced £29m across Wales for this academic year (2020/21) to support accelerated learning following the Covid-19 Pandemic. The primary purpose of the funding is to allow schools to put in place and deploy additional human capacity in order to support learners in addressing their needs following the initial COVID-19 crisis and period of school closure. Within the school our funding is targeted at all pupils in both language streams.
This funding will be used at our school in order to develop phonics and reading comprehension in both language streams.
The grant is only to be used by schools for additional human resources in achieving the above aim – it is not eligible to be used for equipment or consumable. Our school will be using the funding in order to appoint a fluent English and Welsh medium LSA to work across the school.
