Pwy ydy Seren a Sbarc?
Who are Seren and Sbarc?
Mae’r Siarter Iaith, prosiect i annog y defnydd o’r Gymraeg yn gymdeithasol mewn ysgolion cynradd Cymru, wedi croesawu dau gymeriad newydd. Bydd y ddau arwr ar bosteri a bathodynnau yn annog plant a phobl ifanc i ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg ar y buarth, gartref ac yn y dosbarth.
Fel rhan o’r Siarter, mae pob ysgol unigol yn cwblhau ygwaelodlin i bennu defnydd iaith cyn datblygu cynllun gweithredu i weithio tuag at wobr efydd, arian neu aur. Mae’n annog cyfraniad gan bob aelod o gymuned yr ysgol – disgyblion, rhieni, llywodraethwyr yr ysgol a’r gymuned ehangach.
Mae cyfathrebu wrth galon bywyd modern – mae tyfu i fyny yn ddwyieithog yn golygu y bydd ein plant a phobl ifanc yn datblygu sgiliau bywyd.
Mae gan Seren a Sbarc, y ddau fasgot y Siarter Iaith, gân arbennig y gallwch chi ei chanu gyda’r fideo canlynol. Mae'r gân hefyd ar gael ar Spotify. Diolch i Casia Wiliam, Bardd Plant Cymru, am y geiriau ac i Osian Williams am y gerddoriaeth.
The Welsh Language Charter, a project to encourage the use of Welsh socially in primary schools in Wales, has welcomed two new characters. The two heroes on posters and badges will encourage our children and young people to use the Welsh language in the playground, at home and the classroom.
As part of the Charter, each individual school completes a baseline exercise to determine current language use before developing an action plan to work towards a bronze, silver or gold award. It encourages participation from every member of the school community – pupils, parents, school governors and the wider community.
Communication is at the heart of modern life – growing up bilingual means that children will be developing skills for life.
The Siarter Iaith mascots, Seren and Sbarc, have a special song, which you can sing along to with the following video. The song is also available on Spotify. Thankyou to Casia Wiliam, Children’s Poet Laureate for Wales, for the lyrics and to Osian Williams for the music.
